Animal Care Clinic in Wallisville provide diagnostic test for pets, livestockThough radiographs may seem like a technology from the 20th Century, they are in fact an important and cost-effective veterinary diagnostic tool. Radiographs—also known as X-rays—are extremely helpful at identifying and diagnosing a number of medical conditions affecting your pet’s lungs, heart, abdomen, oral cavity, bladder, kidneys and other areas. For example, a radiograph can detect cancerous tumors, diagnose heartworm disease, bladder and kidney stones, and foreign objects.

X-rays are also very important for helping diagnose and treat injuries such as broken bones, joint injuries and illnesses and many other orthopedic conditions.

Because Animal Care Clinic believes that all animals deserve the best care possible, we offer computerized radiography services. Computerized images are able to offer a level of detail that standard radiographs do not allow, as well as a means for the doctor to manipulate the image to gain the best view.

Further, our Ultra HF machine is set up in the radiology room as a stationary unit, but can be moved if necessary. This is convenient if we need to take radiographs during surgery or have a patient that cannot be moved.

Because the images are digital, they can be easily sent via email to GCV Telemedicine for review by a board certified veterinary radiologist. There is a nominal fee for this, but we feel it is well worth the cost in order to provide the highest quality care to our patients.

Our Lab

Pet and livestock doctor at Animal Care Clinic in Wallisville - Onsite LabPerforming preventative medicine as well as diagnosing emergent internal health issues requires the ability to perform a wide range of laboratory tests on blood, urine, feces, and biopsied tissue. Without timely access to precise laboratory test results it is difficult to make an accurate diagnosis or assessment of your pet’s health.

At Animal Care Clinic we have invested quite a bit in updating and maintaining our modern in-house laboratory in order to ensure that we offer superior health care. Our laboratory allows us to perform urinalysis, parasite identification, fungal cultures, blood chemistry testing, and more.

In some instances, we can receive results within minutes, which is very helpful in critical cases where time is of the essence. We also use our lab to properly evaluate every surgical case prior to the administration of anesthesia.
